PERUVIAN QUIPO PUZZLE

Despite being called the "PERUVIAN QUIPO", this wonderful and strange puzzle is in reality neither Peruvian nor a Quipo; but an imaginative word puzzle that originates from late 18th or early 19th Century England.

PUZZLE FOR YOU

We may have got a few strands crossed over, but here it is laid out as tidily as we can manage.

In April 2015 we had a small gathering of metagrobologists at the Puzzle Museum and gave out copies of this puzzle as a souvenir. Below is a copy which Laurie Brokenshire kindly annotated to make it easier for would be solvers. (Brown, Yellow, Green, Purple, Red, Blue)

The Greatest Quipo Puzzle Solver is Melanie Alves

We asked both real and virtual visitors for the solution but, for over a year, nobody claimed to have found one. Then in June 2016, Melanie sent us the solution. She achieved this despite the fading of the antique ribbons and discovered the charming rhyme hidden in the ribbons.

Why not have a go yourself?

Melanie's solution as seen in the mirror is below: -
