NINE GLASS BOTTLES NESTED INSIDE EACH OTHER |
Perhaps neither a puzzle nor a truly paradoxical object but a remarkable piece of glass-blowing. 11cm. tall
Sealed with cork & sealing wax this was made starting with the smallest putting one inside another then sealing each base in turn. This is not the same as true "Impossible Bottles" in which all the contents are inserted through the mouth. Harry Eng was the master of impossible bottles; however the unknown maker of this object showed great skill. He is believed to have been a glass-blower at Bristol University in the 1980s. If you are he/she, please introduce yourself. |
