PINK & HONY'S GIANT

THE GIANT PUZZLE from PINK'S PUZZLES in LOOE, CORNWALL, UK.
We are offering this historical puzzle. Currently in bits in boxes.

After building the illustrated Mrs Thatcher and handbag, there were lots of bits left over but perhaps not quite enough to make the original configuration. The pieces are simple constructed pine chuck pieces so it will be extremely easy to assemble any missing pieces.

Made in the 1960s by Baron Hony and displayed in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s at Pink's Puzzles, which we believe was the Worlds first Hand's On Puzzle entertainment for tourists.

The photo on the left shows Baron Hony with the puzzle as originally displayed. The original label is shown in the last photo.

SIX OF DIAMONDS. Designed and made by Stewart Coffin Design #131).

Stewart Coffin wrote "This one was similar to
Slider except for having all six pieces dissimilar,
which must have made it hopelessly difficult. I think I
got carried away and went too far. It was used in the
IPP puzzle exchange in 1998, and I wonder how many
had the time and patience to solve it. I made 100 of them so there
must be a few still around". But not many & this is one of them!

Edward Hordern's IPP18 exchange.

"So you think you have seen it before" aka "BURR NOODLE".

A very very difficult original Stewart Coffin Puzzle #106

Coffin's design #106. Burr Noodle has two kinds of pieces, three of each, and the final step of the difficult assembly is the mating of two mirror-image halves. The pieces have rhomboid cross-section. Stewart Coffin made about 100 of them for the IPP17 exchange and this puzzle is one of these originals made from padauk. The queer notches had to be very accurately cut.

Coffin has criticised his own design descrbing this puzzle as ""difficulty just for the sake of difficulty". So if you are a glutton for punishment you should certainly buy this puzzle!
We will probably send this puzzle in pieces to ensure your maximum torment.

Designed & Made in 1996 by Stewart Coffin for Edward Hordern's IPP17 Exchange aka "Burr Noodle"
