The other side is inscribed "Souvenir Abbeville"

A money box that is a puzzle to open, made from scraps of steel and wood that came to hand, presumably by Florrie's father, husband, or sweetheart just after the end of the war.

The first shipment of military Tanks was to the training ground in Abbeville,France in August. They were deployed on the Somme in September 1916.
