Oktostar Puzzle
19th Century version of the paper puzzle shown as Puzzle of Month for May 2005. Possibly made by Izzard or Jaques. Puzzle:- Put a marble on one of the eight points then slide it along the line to rest on the point at the other end. You are never allowed to put a coin on another but must continue until seven marbles have been placed. |

As this is a puzzle, and not a game that need the balls banging into each other, the marbles are in pristine condition. Fortunately it was not found by a marble collector: sadly they often separate the marbles from the game or puzzle with which they were originally associated. This mahogany board has seven 15mm handmade Lutz Marbles, which include small flakes of copper or goldstone. |
