RECOLLECTIONS

Puck's Presidential Puzzle Picture for 1888

This chromolithograph of the cartoon by J.Keppler was published in the USA in 1888 in Puck Magazine. It will test the recollection of students of American history. It relates to when the British Ambassador was tricked into writing an indiscrete letter which almost certainly had a major effect on the Presidential Election.

John Bull is being sent home in disgrace and Uncle Sam is looking for the hidden portraits of the President Elect and all the defeated candidates.

How many can you find and identify?
