Rare antique Chinese Stone box of stone pieces. Our own set is very similar with plain bases and elaborately carved tops, but this set has a missing seal replaced with a mahogany piece. Nob Yoshigahara told us that they were seals ready to have their bottoms carved; however we have now seen 4 sets none of which have carved bases. The puzzle is how to put them in the box so that no straight dividing line goes from side to side. |

Superb antique inlaid hardwood box containing a dissected boxwood cube which is slightly different to the classic Chinese dissection as this has 8 pieces. (one piece has a split due to the wood grain which in no way diminishes the puzzle).
there is an extra puzzle: Exactly like the Puzzle Museum's copy the pieces are impressed with small letters - These are identical to 3 copies we have seen. So they are not random, but why were they chosen?
